Josh & Airlie | Port Orchard Wedding Photographer

I first met with Josh and Airlie back in spring of 2013, and when they started explaining the inspiration for their day I knew it'd be fabulous. A beach house on the Puget Sound, vibrant colors, and details with rustic glamor -- gorgeous!

With the wedding being in summer, the weather certainly didn't live up to expectations; in fact, I don't think I've ever gotten so drenched shooting a wedding in my whole career! I was so impressed with Josh and Airlie's tenacity in spite of the weather, totally up for outdoor photos even during the downpour. What troopers! We lucked out with a few sun breaks, and made the most of the rain by incorporating umbrellas throughout the day. The highlight for me was the first look between Airlie and her dad -- what a beautifully emotional moment when he saw his daughter ready to walk down the aisle for the first time.

The venue and surrounding environment lended so well to Airlie's thoughtful DIY decor and details. There were flip-flops for guests to have for strolling on the beach, a s'mores bar by the seaside bonfire, delicious cake pops to take home, and vintage keys indicating table assignments (another elegant favor shared with guests). The reception included a dinner buffet, story-filled toasts, and tons of dancing which made for some lively photo ops! It was a dynamic wedding day true to the Pacific Northwest.  Congrats, Mr. and Mrs. Davies!
