Mario & Monica | Seattle Wedding Photographer

The gorgeous blues, greens, and light pinks of this wedding leave me "ooh"ing and "aahh"ing every time -- and that's just the beginning! It was so hard to narrow down photos for this blog post because everything about this event was photogenic.

Mario and Monica married on a late September afternoon at the Lake Forest Park Civic Club. The couple opted for an early ceremony with a relaxed reception complete with coffee, brunch, and a S'mores bar (how can you go wrong?!). I love when couples plan an event unique to them, the joy shines on their faces the whole day through! Even more impressive, almost every aspect of this gorgeous wedding was DIY: from the florals, to the cake, to even -- yes -- the bridal gown. What! And all masterfully done. Just take a look at the vendor list below....these are some seriously talented friends and family.

After a waterfront ceremony (including two music numbers written and performed by friends and family), brunch, and some tear-jerking toasts, the couple was sent off onto a seaplane by their loved ones. And, lucky me, I got to join! There is nothing like seeing our beautiful city from the air, especially on a late summer day.

After the plane landed in South Lake Union, we ventured around the city a bit while taking advantage of an overcast evening during golden hour. I may be biased, but if you take only one piece of inspiration from this couple -- schedule even just one hour of post-reception photography, just you two and your photographer. Those few hours after you're freshly named Man and Wife are precious ones that elicit the most tender emotions to capture on camera. You won't regret it once you see those images!

Thank you so much Mario & Monica for inviting me to capture your beautiful day, and all of those beautiful moments between the two of you. It's just the beginning of a lifetime ahead!
